Copa America Final Argentina Vs Brazil

Argentina Wins Copa America, Ending Title Droughts for Messi and Nation

Stunning Goal from Di Maria Secures Victory

Messi's Years of Heartbreak Come to an End

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (AP) — Argentina has finally won a major title, defeating Brazil 1-0 in the Copa America final on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro. The victory marks Argentina's first major championship since 1993 and the first major international crown for Lionel Messi.

Angel di Maria scored the only goal of the match in the 22nd minute, capitalizing on a defensive error by Brazil. Neymar, Brazil's star player, had a chance to equalize in the second half but was denied by goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

Messi, who has long been considered one of the greatest players in the world, has finally won a major trophy with his national team after years of disappointment. He was named the Player of the Tournament.

Argentina's victory ends a long drought for the nation, which had not won a major title since the 1993 Copa America. It also marks the first time Argentina has defeated Brazil in a major final since 1937.

The victory is a major triumph for Argentina's coach, Lionel Scaloni, who has been in charge of the team since 2018. Scaloni has rebuilt the team after a disappointing World Cup in 2018 and has led them to victory in the Copa America.
